Incense Smoker Thuringia Peddler
This figure brings a traditional Thüringer peddler (Hausierer) to life. He stands firmly on a natural wood base and wears a dark green coat with silver buttons, paired with black trousers and sturdy shoes. A wide-brimmed black hat crowns his head and immediately gives him the appearance of a traveling salesman from centuries past.
His long white beard and mustache frame a gently carved wooden face, and in his hand he confidently holds a pipe that serves as the incense outlet. Once you place an incense cone inside, the smoke rises smoothly through the pipe and adds movement and charm to the scene. Meanwhile, he carries a woven basket over his shoulder, filled with festive goods. Colorful ornaments, bright red Christmas baubles, and small handcrafted decorations hang from the basket, so he clearly travels from village to village offering his wares.
Altogether, natural wood tones and carefully painted details create an authentic piece that proudly continues the storytelling tradition of Erzgebirge folk art.
